How much does an instrument repair cost?

It depends on the instrument and the work involved, so we diagnose before we quote. You get an honest assessment and a price before any work begins, with no surprise charges.

Do I need an appointment to drop off my instrument?

No appointment is needed for most repairs. Bring your instrument in during store hours, Tuesday through Friday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM or Saturday 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and we will take a look.

How long do repairs take?

Most setups and minor repairs are turned around quickly. Larger jobs like structural repair and full restorations take longer, so ask us for a timeline when you drop your instrument off.

What kinds of repairs do you do?

Setup and intonation, fret leveling and crowning, electronics and rewiring, pickup installation, tuning machine replacement, cracks and structural repair including broken headstocks and bridge reglues, plus full cleaning and maintenance.

Do you send repairs out to a third party?

No. Every repair is done in house at 420 Cambridge Street in Midland by our own technician. There is no shipping out and no waiting weeks.

What instruments and brands do you work on?

We work on most stringed instruments, all brands and all budgets. Beginner instruments get the same care as vintage pieces.

Do you carry replacement parts and strings?

Yes. We carry replacement hardware in store along with strings, picks, straps, cables and cases, so you can restock while you are in.
